Nadal cruises into third round in Monte Carlo
World number one Rafael Nadal is through to the third round in Monte Carlo Masters after defeating Jarko Niemenen 6-2 6-2.
The six-time champion here romped to victory in just 69 minutes, dropping just four games against the Niemenen and winning 85 percent of his first serves.
Nadal will now play Frenchman Richard Gasquet who earlier defeated Guillermo Garcia-Lopez 6-2, 6-1.
Elsewhere, David Ferrer of Spain also won through comfortably - recording a 6-2 6-0 win over Feliciano Lopez.
Giles Simon and Gael Monfils are also through after securing straight set wins.
