French Open 2011 draws announced
The French Open 2011 gets underway tomorrow and the draws have been announced for the men and women at Roland Garros.
In the men's draw world number one and defending champion Rafael Nadal will attempt to win a sixth French Open and has been drawn against the tall American John Isner in the first round.
2009 champion Roger Federer also has a tricky first round opponent in the form of Spanish clay court specialist Feliciano Lopez.
Man of the moment Novak Djokovic is looking to win his first Roland Garros title and will face Dutchman Thiemo de Bakker. Djokovic is scheduled to meet Federer in the semi-finals should both players progress that far.
British number one Andy Murray's first round opponent will be French qualifier Eric Prodon. Murray is due to meet Nadal in the semi-finals.
In the women's draw world number one Caroline Wozniacki will face 40-year-old Kimiko Date of Japan. while second seed Kim Clijsters will be playing her first match on clay this year and is up against Anastasiya Yakimova.
Recent Rome champion Maria Sharapova has drawn former top 10 player Mirjana Lucic and defending champion Francesca Schiavone will face American teenager Melanie Oudin.
Play begins on Sunday at 10:00 am GMT and 11:00 am local.
