Tennis at the Hallamshire

We aim to cater for the needs of all our members, from those who wish to play at a recreational level for social activity, to veterans who enjoy playing in teams, and our tiny tots who have fun playing Mini Tennis. As a member's club it is our aim to meet our member's needs.

We have a dynamic and varied tennis programme, which runs all year round on our indoor and outdoor tennis courts, Sheffield's best.
Playing opportunities

The many tennis leagues, ladders, club evenings, teams and tournaments offer plenty of opportunity for play all year round, for all standards.

Our focused junior programme gives youngsters the opportunity to progress to any level, right up to national competitions, and at the very least they acquire skills which will stay with them for life.

For adults we run year round tennis courses from beginners to advanced standards. To compliment this we have a professional team of tennis coaches who offer individual training throughout the year.

Leagues

The club runs teams in the National Leagues and Sheffield & District Leagues to suit all standards of competitive players. We also run Singles Mini Leagues, usually for 6-8 week periods,and during this time you wouldbe expected to play 6-8 matches. The leagues run 12 months per year.

Annual Club Championship

The Hallamshire Club Championship, run during the summer months, includes singles, doubles, mixed and junior events.

During the summer months evening activities on the outdoor courts are as follows...
Monday night:     Social tennis
Tuesday night:     Ladies' practice night
Wednesday night:     Men's practice night
Thursday night:     Ladies' match night
Friday night:     Junior club night
Saturday afternoon:     Men's or mixed matches

Winter activities are slightly different...
Monday night:     Social tennis (indoor & out)
Wednesday night:     Men's night (outdoors)
Friday night:     Social night (outdoors)
